Boys and Girls who are interested in playing hockey for the 1st time this winter are encouraged to attend Learn to Skate!
Sessions will be run by NBAHA coaching staff and older skaters. Each session will include skills instruction from the coaches and open skating time for the kids to warm up and practice the skills they are learning. Coaches will be on the ice during open skating to assist the skaters and give further instruction. Skaters will be split into groups based on their skill level and will work on the appropriate skills for their level and continue to progress through the more advanced skills.
Level 1: Proper posture, Stand from fallen position, Walk across Ice, Push and Glide
Level 2: Stride and Glide, Turns, Forward Stop, Backward Skating, Backward Stops
Level 3: Edge Work, Push and Glide One foot, Forward Cross Over, Forward to Backwards, Backwards to Forwards, Quick Starts, One Foot Stops

All girls and boys, pre-k thru 3rd grade, are invited to play at this very low price
$40 (birth year 2004 and after) or $80 (birth year before 2004 have to pay an additional $40 for insurance *)

Mite Night
7:00pm, September 28th, 2010
North Branch Fire Hall
An informational Mite Night will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28th 7:00pm at the NB fire hall. All new Mite players and anyone interested in learning more about playing hockey are encouraged to attend. We will be discussing the upcoming season, handing out equipment and taking payments for the 2010-2011 season if you chose the "off line" option in your registration. You will also need to turn in the waiver of liability and consent to treat forms at this time as well as a copy of your child's birth certificate. All players must register at northbranchhockey.com

All you need to provide are skates, which you can lease locally for around $20, a stick,
can be purchased for as low as $15 and a mouth guard. (There is no checking in Mite hockey)
Come out and join a quickly strengthening program and help usher in the new hockey arena.
Traveling Skaters - Registration Deadline - 9/22
On line registration is available at northbranchhockey.com and is mandatory this year. You will first register your skater with USA Hockey (link provided through NBAHA website) you will then need that confirmation number to proceed with online registration for North Branch hockey.
- You will need a credit/debit card to pay for the USA/MN Hockey fees on line. The cost is $40 for skaters with birth year 2004 or earlier. There is no cost for the younger skaters.
- You will have several options for paying for your NBAHA portion of the fees.
- Pay in full on-line with credit/debit card or PayPal
- Pay 3 equal installments on-line with your credit/debit card or Paypal. 1st installment due at checkout, 2nd installment will be automatically charged to your card on Nov 30th, 3rd installment on Dec 30th. (this option is only available for Bantam, Peewee, and Squirt levels.)
- Pay in full by mail to NBAHA, Box 541, North Branch, MN 55056.
- Pay 3 equal installments by mail. 1st installment due by Aug 30th, 2nd on Nov 30th, 3rd installment on Dec 30th. (this option is only available for Bantam, Peewee, and Squirt levels.)
- All Mites will register under "Mites" if placed on an upper level Mite team after evaluations you will then need to pay the additional $485 either in full by Nov 30th or 2 equal installment on Nov 30th and Dec 30th. You will have the option of paying on-line as well at that time.
We must have the Waiver of Liability and Consent to Treat forms turned in before your child will be allowed on the ice for Pre Skates, Tryouts or Evaluations. If you are new to the association you will also need to mail in a copy of your child's birth certificate. You may mail them to NBAHA, Box 541, North Branch, MN 55056,
If you have not yet picked up your fundraising materials, contact Janelle at fundraising@northbranchhockey.com. All returning families must turn in fundraising materials to Janelle on or before Sept 28th.
Fees for the 2010- 2011 Season
USA/MN Hockey Registration fee for Birth Year 2004 and older is $40
NBAHA 2010-2011 season fee
· Mites/U8 $40
· Upper Level Mites $525
· Squirts $960
· Pewees $1060
· Bantams $300 (registration fee only)
(This is the NBAHA portion of fees, does not include the USA Hockey fees.)
Registration deadline for Traveling skaters is Wednesday Sept. 22nd.
Registration deadline for returning Mites is Wednesday Oct 27th.
All outstanding balances must be paid before your registration will be accepted for the 2010-2011 season.

NBAHA Invites Girl Scouts of all ages to attend!
The North Branch Vikings U8 hockey team invites Girl Scouts of all ages from the North Branch area to attend the "2010 Girl Scouts Skate with the U8 Team" event. This is a free event sponsored by North Branch Area Hockey Association.

On Ice: 12:00 to 1:00
Lunch & Presentation: 1:00 - 2:00
Each Girl Scout in attendance will receive a Skating Fun Patch!

If you do not have ice skates let us know ASAP along with your shoe size and we will do our best to find skates for you to borrow.
